Head Start Education
TAP Head Start’s strong education program prepares enrolled children for success in school and in life by encouraging their development in all areas: physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional. Classroom teachers either hold college degrees in Early Childhood Education or related field or have Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials. The Creative Curriculum is used in all classrooms. It guides teachers in providing children a variety of hands-on activities with emphasis on early literacy and numeracy and with the opportunity to learn through play. Children’s progress is evaluated formally and informally throughout the year through curriculum-aligned assessments. The curriculum is then tailored to each child’s individual needs and stages of development. TAP Head Start also provides services in the areas of disabilities and behavioral health, when needed.
