Judge Clarke Attends with TAP in San Antonio

In April 2008, four of Sabrina’s Place Advisory Council representatives attended a workshop hosted by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges in San Antonio, Texas. The workshop was entitled “Supervised Visitation Program Communities: Envisioning Solutions for Collaborative Practice.” The four participants representing the core partnership of Sabrina’s Place were: Sammi Rader, Program Coordinator of Sabrina’s Place, Judge Joseph Clarke, Carol Tuning, Human Services Coordinator for the City of Roanoke and Michelle Yopp, a domestic violence advocate from Salvation Army’s Turning Point.

This two-day workshop offered the opportunity to engage in strategic thinking and group problem solving around court and legal issues as well as collaboration efforts among community partners intended to enhance safety, promote change, and examine solutions to crucial issues around supervised visitation and safe exchange in cases of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence.  Click here for information about Sabrina's Place, TAP's supervised visitation and safe exchange program.
