Purpose

 To provide motivation, job readiness and job retention training, and job placement and follow-up for Fathers First clients.

Graduation from a four-year college or have related experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to instruct adults in job seeking and retention skills, including resume writing and conflict resolution.  Interpersonal skills required.  Must be well organized and possess written and verbal communication skills.  Must be enthusiastic and able to motivate clients.  Must have computer skills.  Must have valid Virginia driver’s license and have a good driving record for insurance purposes.  Must be free to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities and/or Specific Duties

1.         Design and provide a job readiness and job retention training course that addresses the needs of area employers.

 

2.         Provide motivational and self-esteem building instruction.

 

3.         Instruct trainees on proper job seeking techniques (interviewing, resume writing, application completion, employer communications, etc.)

 

4.         Provide life skills instruction as it applies to job retention

 

5.         Provide counseling and referral services to address needs of clients.

 

6.         Coordinate Transitional Employment Program

 

7.         Identify appropriate job opportunities for clients.

 

8.         Provide un-subsidized job placement for clients

 

9.         Assist in marketing of Fathers First to both potential clients and employers program.

 

9.         Complete mandatory reports required by funding source and Assistant Director for THIS VALLEY WORKS.

 

10.       Perform other activities as directed by the Program Manager and Assistant Director for THIS VALLEY WORKS.
