Purpose
|
Plans and instructs youth and
adult students preparing them for the GED test which is administered via
the School System Adult Education Program. Provides individualized
instruction.

Education
|
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university
|
|
Experience
|
Experience in classroom instruction, and demonstrated
ability to provide individualized instruction to both youth and adults
simultaneously. 3 to 5 years previous work experience
preferred. Knowledge of effective instructional techniques and
materials, as well as other resources.
|

Responsibilities
and/or Specific Duties
|
- Develop lesson plans
- Help with assessment
of both youth and adults
- Provide initial
testing to determine level of placement for applicants.
- Make appropriate
plans to accommodate individual learning abilities.
- Utilize computer
lessons when appropriate.
- Periodically do
performance reviews to access progress of students.
- Maintain attendance
and performance records.
- Maintain participant
files or portfolios.
- Counsel students and
refer to support services as needed.
- Schedule students to
take GED test.
- Complete forms and
reports as required by Grant and Supervisor.

Special
Requirements
|
Must possess a
valid VA driver's license with a good driving record and have reliable
transportation. Must have exceptional verbal/writing skills.
Must have experience working with persons of varied economic and social
backgrounds.
|

Salary
|
$18.00/hr.
