Employment | How am I Paid?

At TAP, Employees are Paid:

Bi-Weekly
  • Payday is on the Thursday following the pay period ending.  If payday falls on a holiday, payday is the working day that precedes the holiday.
  • TAP's payroll period is a two-week period beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday.
  • All employees are required to complete and sign a timesheet which is reviewed for accuracy and completeness and sent to the Finance Office by 5:00 pm on the Friday evening at the end of the bi-weekly pay period.
  • All new hires shall sign up for direct deposit of their payroll upon hire.  You may have several direct deposit accounts. Your first paycheck will be a paper check, and then thereafter, your net payroll will automatically be transferred to your account(s).

If You Are Hired As A Full-Time Salaried Employee:

  • All salaried employees are paid currently (i.e., a paycheck issued for December 16 is payment for the pay period of November 28 through December 11).
  • All employees are required to complete and sign a timesheet which is reviewed for accuracy and completeness and sent to the Finance Office by 5:00 pm on the Friday evening at the end of the bi-weekly pay period.
  • All non-exempt, salaried employees will be paid overtime using their hourly rate of pay.
  • All insurance deductions are withheld each pay period.

If You Are Hired As A Part-Time or Full-Time Hourly Employee:

  • You are paid your hourly rate of pay for all hours worked.  Hours worked in excess of 40 are paid at your overtime rate (hourly rate x 1.5).  All time worked in excess of a non-exempt employee's regularly scheduled hours must be approved in advance by their immediate Supervisor.
  • All part-time and full-time hourly employees are paid currently (i.e., a paycheck issued for December 16 is payment for the pay period of November 28 through December 11).
  • All insurance deductions are withheld each pay period.
  • All regular part-time and regular full-time hourly employees who work at least 21 hours/week are eligible for Annual Leave, Sick Leave, EAP, Bereavement Leave, Jury Duty and more.  After completion of 6 months of continuous employment, all regular part-time and full-time employees are eligible to participate in some or all of TAP's benefit programs.
  • Temporary employees and substitute teachers are not eligible to participate in TAP's benefits and do not accrue Annual or Sick Leave.
