Purpose |
Performs responsible paraprofessional work
designed to assist homeless persons in acquiring independent
living skills through counseling, education and training at the
Transitional Living Center (TLC).
Work is performed under
regular supervision. |

Education |
HS graduate or equivalent. |
|
Experience |
Some experience in counseling or outreach work to homeless
persons. |
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
General
knowledge of the social, economic and health problems of
homeless persons. General knowledge of the philosophy,
objectives and techniques of counseling as related to chemical
dependency, mental health motivation and job-skills attainment.
General knowledge of community resources and agencies.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely; ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with
others. |

Salary |
$10.00/Hr. (Base) |
|
Special Requirements |
Valid Virginia Driver’s License
and have reliable transportation;
Must be willing to work days, evenings and nights on weekdays, weekends
and holidays. |
