Purpose |
Performs
responsible semi-skilled work in cooking and serving meals at
the Transitional Living Center (TLC). Does related work as
required. Work is performed under regular supervision. |
|
Education |
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to
graduation from high school. |
|
Experience |
Some
experience in cooking foods in large quantities. |
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
Duties include
but are not limited to:

Prepares breakfast, lunch,
supper, bag lunches and snacks for TLC residents.
-
Prepares and cooks meats,
vegetables and other foods in accordance with menu.
-
Operates standard cooking
equipment such as ranges, mixers, food choppers and
refrigerators/freezers.
-
Cleans kitchen and equipment,
washes dishes, and cooking utensils.
-
Cleans pantry as needed.
-
Participates in serving food
and in cleaning dining facility.
-
Conducts periodic inventory and
notifies supervisor of needs or concerns.
-
Notifies supervisor and/or
appropriate case manager of concerns about residents.
-
Promotes positive nutritional
experiences for residents.
-
Prepares alternative foods for
special dietary needs as directed by supervisor.
-
Follows all TLC policies and
procedures.
-
Adheres to Federal and State
guidelines for client confidentiality.
-
Attends training at the request
of Project Manager and Supervisor.

Special Requirements |
Thorough
knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing meats,
breads, vegetables, desserts, and other foods on a large scale
and of the use and care of utensils and equipment; General
knowledge of food values and nutrition; Skill in cutting and
carving meat; Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with residents, co-workers, visitors, and
the general public. |
