Purpose

The primary function of this position is to deliver food from the Central Kitchen to various Head Start sites.  This position will aide in various food service tasks including packing and storing of food and cleaning of containers/site.  This position will work under supervision and will be given detailed instructions on assignments that are not routine.  Work is reviewed through observation and inspection.

Education

Experience

Food service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Assists in preparing transport containers for package and delivery daily.
• Cleans van and packing areas daily.
• Cleans kitchen and food service equipment daily.
• Loads, unloads and stocks kitchen supplies.
• Works as a team member with other kitchen staff.
• Performs janitorial duties as requested.
• Performs other related food service tasks upon request.

Special Requirements

• Must have the ability to drive a large delivery van.
• Must have the ability to learn repetitive tasks quickly.
• Must have the ability to work long hours while standing.
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions

• Must have a valid VA driver's license and have a good driving record.

Salary

$8.00/hr.
